Why Black Betty? We have no idea. But the Dutch modder putting this case together has just started his first English worklog, and the result appears to be coming along quite nicely.

The base case for this mod is a Chieftec full tower. However, it has some fairly chunky metal dividing up the case, and Joeroenotje was keen to open it up and give himself more room to mod - hence some intensive jigsaw work. Imitating uber-mod Orac 3, he has decided to use shower hoses to sleeve the PSU cables.

Talking of the PSU, tarting up an old supply to be nice and matte black requires a break down and respray. The final result is far more aesthetically pleasing.

The centrepiece of this mod is a 5" monochrome CRT screen - very retro, look at the bulge on the screen! Breaking it apart is necessary to getting it installed in a drive bay.

The PCB for the display is mounted on the roof of the case, and the screen itself sits in a drive bay, waiting for a suitably made bezel.

The bezel is due to arrive in the worklog, which you can check out for the latest progress. If nothing else, this mod certainly has a novelty value!
